Cottage: Waterfall
Bio: Lorelei Ignas is a Los Angeles-based writer and activist whose storytelling career began
as an off-off Broadway playwright/director. She loves writing juicy mysteries in cloistered, rare-air worlds, and telling stories about outcasts and underdogs (usually women and/or queer folks) working together to defeat patriarchal adversity. Lorelei’s scripted portfolio reflects her life experience in its exploration of issues like family dysfunction, queer coming-of-age experiences, parental grief, theatre/performing arts, high-performing children, mental illness/addiction, and reproductive justice. She is an alumna of Hedgebrook’s Screenwriting Lab (class of 2019). In addition to writing on
Netflix’s hit series Devil in Ohio, Lorelei has developed TV projects with YouTube Red, A+E Studios, Copper Cup Entertainment, and BFD Productions. She is an alumni of the NBC Writers on the Verge Fellowship and was a Finalist for the Disney | ABC Writing Program and a semifinalist for the Warner Brothers Writer’s Workshop. Lorelei’s a member of the WGA’s Committee for Women Writers (CWW) and LGBTQIA+ Writers Committee. Her cultural criticism has been published in Rogue Magazine and Bitch
Media. Lorelei is repped by UTA and Haven Entertainment. She has a Substack called Surlypurling, about knitting while neurodiverse, and is currently working on a YA novel. When not writing, Lorelei is most likely knitting, exercising, showing you pictures of her cats, or watching women’s gymnastics.
